Evaluation of the student is generally done in two parts - i.e. Internal and External. (Some programmes / courses may not have internal assessment.) Proportion of marks of Internal and External Assessment is 20:80. Separate passing in Internal and External Assessment is essential
Internal AssessmentThis assessment is done on the departmental/study center level. According to the nature of the programme / course it may consist of theory, practical, term work, seminar, project work, industrial training and so on. These assignments are either to be completed at home or to be done in class as tutorials. The University, in its academic calendar, provides schedule for internal work.
External Assessment Schedule of Examination
For the course, having annual examination pattern, examination is held at the end of academic year, (April/May). For the repeater students of such courses the supplementary examinations are held in December.
For courses having semester pattern the examinations are held at the end of semester December / January and April / May / June.
Examination Center
Every year the University has right to finalize the examination centers / venues. Information of this is given well in advance.
Results / Examination
Results of the University examinations will be declared within 45 days after the end of the examination of that particular programme.
Revaluation & Rechecking / Verification of Marks
Candidate may apply for revaluation or rechecking of marks by paying the Revaluation or Rechecking fees.
Rules for promotion
A.T.P. - i.e. Allowed to Proceed - facility is applicable to all the courses. Rules of this facility vary from course to course. For most of the courses this facility is given to the candidates who have 2 backlogs of theory papers (and in case of practical oriented courses who have backlog of 2 theory and 1 practical paper).
For 3 years’ courses, the candidate is not admitted to the Third Year unless he / she clear his /her First Year. In case of 2 years’ course with semester pattern the candidate has to clear his / her first semester to get the admission to Second Year / III semester.
Reappearing
Absent/ Fail / A.T.P. candidates can reappear for the backlog examination by paying the fees.
Grading System
General system of gradation is as follow

Convocation
Institute has always been in constant consultation with the industry peers in its endurance to build up a strong foundation for the students to become professionals in their areas of specializations. The institute has scheduled various industry & field visits for its students to take a live stock of the situation prevailing within the industry & has also identified grey areas for special & guest sessions from the industry stalwarts. The parent organization is also in the position of absorbing some of the students itself.
